Description
Ornamental evergreen bush or tree with height 2 to 6m .Its foliage is fragrant wavy lanceolate dark green while its flower is also fragrant with yellow-white colour appearing in spring (April-May). Its seeds are black reminding olives. It is a native highly resistant plant which survives both in mountainous and seaside areas. It prefers calcium, well irrigated soils and it survives up to -15 oC. Although it can be found in gardens it is mostly famous for its leaves which are being used in cooking as well as in pharmacy. The leaves collection takes place during September and August.
